We often have vacancies within the Credit Union for volunteers, whether it’s working in our office based in North Shields or helping at one of our numerous service points around the borough. The work is varied, interesting, and very rewarding.

Customer Service Assistant

Customer Service Assistants are based at our North Shields office and are involved in serving customers, completing paperwork, and some cash handling. Also included in the office routine are filing, photocopying and entering data on the database.

Service Point Assistant

Service Point Assistants are based at our many Service Points in the borough and are involved in assisting our Mobile Service Point Personnel promoting and establishing the Credit Union products and services within the local area.

Training

You can expect Northern Oak to provide appropriate training and supervision for your volunteering activity.

We would like to encourage you to let us know about any training and support needs that you may have.

Expenses

All reasonable travel expenses to and from Northern Oak and any of our Service Points will be reimbursed to you.

Directors and Supervisory Committee

The Credit Union also relies on volunteers to act as Directors or Supervisory Committee Members. If you are a member with the relevant knowledge or a keen interest in the Credit Union and would like to be involved please contact the Chief Officer at our Howard Street Office.
