The Mobile Service Point is a customised Peugeot Boxer van and is funded from a grant from The Tudor Trust.
The MSP has a distinctive livery design comprising of a “wrap-over” of our winter Oak Tree image and this has been very well received with many positive comments about the appearance.
The interior of the van is fitted out as an office, it has a fold down desk for interviews and has electrical fittings enabling a laptop and printer / scanner to be used. This allows our MSP Officer to do loan interviews as well as account opening and provide information. Refreshments are also provided. Internal lighting is in place.
The MSP was seen as being a key part of achieving our aim of providing safe and affordable loans and saving facilities to everyone within North Tyneside. The MSP is an effective alternative to the traditional Credit Union method of expanding the area covered which involved opening new Service Points.
The MSP works alongside the volunteers to provide a highly visible focal point as well the necessary support.
The M.S.P. regularly attends church fayres and other community events and is very effective in promoting the Credit Union’s image
